Gmail Plus Alias Guide
Gmail supports plus addressing. If an account is example@gmail.com, mail sent to an address such as example+shopping@gmail.com normally arrives in the same underlying Gmail inbox.
Is a plus alias a separate Gmail account?
No. Plus aliases are address variations associated with the same Gmail account. They do not create additional Google accounts, passwords or separate Google mailboxes.
How the beta mode works here
The optional Gmail Alias beta creates a high-entropy plus alias associated with a Gmail account connected to this service. A read-only Gmail integration checks for messages delivered to active aliases and displays matching mail inside the same temporary inbox interface.
When is it useful?
Plus aliases can be useful for software testing, email routing tests and identifying which address variation was used when signing up for a service. They are not designed to bypass another website's access controls or abuse prevention systems.
